In this blog we will look at two more reasons that can be attributed to #WhyJesusCametoDie

#6 – To shown His Own Love for us

#7 – To Cancel the Legal Demands of the Law Against Us

John 3:16 not only explains God’s love for the world, but also Christ’s own love for all who believe in Him. The early Apostolic Church took Christ’s sacrifice very personally. The expression in the later part of the verse Galatians 2:20 – “Jesus loved me and gave himself for me” brings out the personal emotions in the early Church.

Jesus paid the highest price possible to give me the greatest gift possible. Yes He Loved me. He loved His People, He loved His Church

Jesus’s death on the cross also cancelled the legal demands of the Law. We can’t meet the demands of the Law given by God. We can’t compensate for them by any means. In other words, our good deeds cannot match our bad deeds. It’s the Faith that saves us not our deeds

The death of Christ in the cross has nailed all the debts that we had.

13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. Colossians 2:13-14

We are saved by God’s Grace and Faith in Christ. Our Hope is on the works of Christ and not our works.

8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:8-10

Christ convicts us for our sins, but he has taken the penalty of it and has acquitted us eternally. We have a greater role; we have to be Christ-like.
