Apostle Paul writes to the Ephesian Church about the good news of their Salvation in Christ. He explains the possession of the Holy Spirit is the seal and sign which shows that we belong to God. By using the word “deposit guaranteeing” Paul is saying that the experience of the Holy Spirit which we have in this world is a foretaste of the Joy & Blessed state we will have in heaven. The presence of Holy Spirit in our lives, guarantees this reality we will enter into full possession. This is the greatest truth of Eternity.
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:13,14
