This blog is based on the Sermon today by Rev. GSM Francis @ CSI St Marks Church Selaiyur.

Scripture: Matthew 18:1-6

Two words are of focus here “Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven”

Greatest:

The Bible teaches us that humbleness leads to exaltation.

“For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted

Matthew 23:12

Kingdom:

Basilica is the Greek word for Kingdom. It’s mentioned 176 times in new Testament. It means Kingship / Royal. Paul writes to Corinthians that we need to be controlled by Christ. He is our King.

For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again”

2 Corinthians 5:14-15

In this passage Matthew 18:1-6, Our Lord Jesus Christ teaches us three things to enter the Kingdom of God.

  1. Change and become like little Children
  2. We should be Humble
  3. Don’t be a stumbling block

To be like Children is having values like

1. Attitude of Sharing. Rev. Azariah, Former Bishop of Madras once said “Sharing of Life is Mission”
2. Forgiving
3. Trusting the parents
4. Humble

Shall we nurture our Faith by these Values & Qualify to enter the Kingdom of God?
