The gospel of John, chapter 6 outlines the miracle of Jesus feeding 5000 people. But when we read the 15th verse, it says Jesus withdrew from the crowd as they were forcing him to be King. Later in a conversation starting verses 25, Jesus explains that He himself is the Bread and those who seek him will have Eternal Life.
It’s very common for us as human beings to keep those who meet our needs (gives bread) in a higher place. We run behind the things of the world chasing the bread. Our lifestyles have become busy, mechanical and very monotonous. Even our relationship with God, many times is at superficial level – We seek Him for the Bread we need.
The current COVID-19 lockdown has forced us out of this lifestyle. Locked down with the four walls of our home, with our close family, we are into a new Normal. Probably, this is the time to to look at God beyond the Bread we need, because He Himself is the Bread, who came down in search of us to give us a new sense & purpose for life. He came not to Give Bread but to BE THE BREAD. Let’s meditate His Word and Seek Him.
