Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her
John 20:18
This Sunday is observed as the ‘Resurrection Sunday’. We remember the Day Christ rose from the dead. It is the very foundation of the Christian Faith. The Bible says – If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9)
In John 20:18, we see Mary Magdalene was the first to encounter the risen Christ. She is the first apostle to carry the Gospel. The first person to lead Christian fraternity in to hope from grim. In John 20:20, we read that “The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord“. The disciples were locked-down in a room filled with fear when Jesus stood among them and said “Peace be with you” (John 20:19)
Jesus overcame Death with a new Life. He conquered Fear with Courage & He replaced Uncertainty with Hope.
Easter 2020 is unique in many ways. It’s a gloomy season, with the threat of Covid-19 looming large. We are locked-down in our homes filled with fear. The risen Christ is offering us His Life, His Courage & His Hope. He is casting away our fear & uncertainty.
Mary Magdalene saw the risen Christ & Pioneered Hope . Incidentally, it’s 6 Women Head of State’s and our own Shailaja Teacher, the health minister of Kerala who have shown Hope in the Covid-19 crisis by flattening the curve. The World will rally behind these brave women and we are to overcome this crisis that’s looming large.
Stay Courageous, There is Life & Hope. I have seen the Lord. Have you? Have a Blessed Resurrection Sunday.
