The gospel of John, chapter 6 opens with the event where Jesus feeds a large crowd that had 5000 men. We see HIM as the compassionate Provider
Jesus tested Philip by asking, where shall we buy bread for the people & Philip answered it would take more half a years wages to buy bread for these people
Andrew said there is boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish. It’s heartening to see a small boy was willing to share what he had.
In many situations we are like Philip, we wear a capitalistic hat; In few situations we are like Andrew, we become socialists, trying to see what options we have to take from one place and distribute. We seldom be like the boy who was willing to share and be a Philanthropist.
We also see the systematic, orderly approach of Jesus Christ. He had people sit in batches on the grass. He then looked at God, thanked and distributed the bread & the fish. We learn so-many things from Jesus. Compassion for People, leading to Plan and a systematic execution of the plan with complete submission and dependence on God. He even didn’t want to waste food, they collected 12 baskets full of left over breads.
Jesus Christ is our Compassionate Provider
How are you thanking Jesus for HIS provisions?
What seemingly impossible task God is asking you to do? How are you approaching it…like an Andrew…like a Philip…like the boy…or like Jesus?
