John Piper in his book “Fifty Reasons Why Jesus Came to Die” illustrates 50 reasons as to why Jesus came to Die. In this Lenten season we are looking at them and mediating on them through a blog series.

Today, we are going to look at 4 more reasons as to why Jesus Came to die. Its reasons 17 to 20 and they all point to our common good.

17. He died to obtain for us All things that are good to us

18. Jesus died to Heal us from Moral and Physical Sickness

19. Jesus’s death was to give Eternal Life to all who believe on Him

20. He died to deliver us from the present Evil age

#17 to obtain for us All things that are good to us

Apostle Paul while thanking the Philippian Church for their gifts, writes about God giving us all things that we need. Interestingly it includes suffering through hunger and not having enough. God meets all needs in any situation or context.

12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength …………………….19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:12-13 & 19

We can be assured of that God will meet all our needs, because He did not spare even his own son, but gave him up for us all. If He has given His own son, we can be doubly sure that He will give us all things.

32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Romans 8:32

#18 அறநெறி சிதைவிலிருந்தும் உடல் நோய்களிலிருந்தும் குணமாக்கவே இயேசு மரித்தார்

ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசியின் கூற்றின் படி நாம் அவருடைய தழும்புகளால் குணமாகிறோம்.

நம்முடைய மீறுதல்களினிமித்தம் அவர் காயப்பட்டு, நம்முடைய அக்கிரமங்களினிமித்தம் அவர் நொறுக்கப்பட்டார்; நமக்குச் சமாதானத்தை உண்டுபண்ணும் ஆக்கினை அவர்மேல் வந்தது; அவருடைய தழும்புகளால் குணமாகிறோம்

ஏசாயா 53:5

புதிய உலகம் உருவாகின்ற பொழுது, நாம் மரணத்தை வென்று, ஜீவ போர்வையை தரித்தவர்களாக பூர்ண குணம்பெற்றவர்களாக நாம் மாறிருப்போம். ஏசாயா 65:24ன் படி ஓனாயும் ஆட்டுக்குட்டியும் ஒருமித்து மேயும் ஒர் இடத்தில் நாம் இருப்போம்

#19 நாம் நித்தய் ஜீவனை (நிலை வாழ்வை) பெறும் படி இயேசு மரித்தார்

யோவான் நற்செய்தி நூலின் 3:16 ஆம் வசனம் நித்தய ஜீவனை குறித்து தெளிவாக குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளது.

16 தேவன், தம்முடைய ஒரேபேறான குமாரனை விசுவாசிக்கிறவன் எவனோ அவன் கெட்டுப்போகாமல் நித்தியஜீவனை அடையும்படிக்கு, அவரைத் தந்தருளி, இவ்வளவாய் உலகத்தில் அன்புகூர்ந்தார்

யோவான் 3:16

யோவான் 3:16 அறிந்த நாம், அதன் பெரும் ஆசிர்வாதத்தை உணர்ந்த நாம் யோவான் 3:36ன் எச்சரிப்பையும் அறிய அழைக்கப்படுகிறோம்.

36 குமாரனிடத்தில் விசுவாசமாயிருக்கிறவன் நித்தியஜீவனை உடையவனாயிருக்கிறான்; குமாரனை விசுவாசியாதவனோ ஜீவனைக் காண்பதில்லை, தேவனுடைய கோபம் அவன்மேல் நிலைநிற்கும் என்றான்.

#20 Jesus died to deliver us from the present Evil age

Apostle Paul’s letter to the Galatian Church brings out this fact, that Christ died to deliver us from the present evil age.

Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,

Galatians 1:4

When Jesus prayed for His disciples before taking up the cross; He asked God to protect them from the evil one. It is by His word, we were to be protected from the evil. By His word’s Power we are delivered from the evil.

15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.

John 17:15-17

Jesus Christ is Our Provider, Our Healer, Our Life-Giver & Our Deliverer. கிறிஸ்துவே நமக்கு அனைத்தையும் தருபவர், நம்மை குணமாக்குபவர், நமக்கு வாழ்வளிப்பவர், நம்மை விடுவிப்பவர்.
