Christmas is an occasion to understand God, His Trueness, His Wisdom & His Joyous Omnipresence. This year, I took a step to write a poem on Christ. A Christology that presents Jesus through the lens of Indian culture. The greatness of Indian thinking helps present Christ in a Profound way.

மெய்யறிமகிழன் நீர்

தாரணி அனைத்தும் படைத்த காரணர்
தம் உருவில் மனிதரை உருவாக்கியவர்
திசை மாறிய மனிதம் மீட்டிட
திரு உருவாய் கிறிஸ்துவாய் பிறந்திட்டவர்
தரணி கடந்து நின்றும்
திடமாய் மனிதரின் ’உள்’ இருக்கும் கடவுள் அவர்

திரியேகம் கடவுளின் மெய்நிலை (சத்) – இத்
திருநிலை அறிய, மெய்யோன் உருவில்
தலைமகனாய் நாம் மெய் அறிய(சித்) பிறந்தவர் இயேசு – அவர்
தம் உருவாய் நாம் மீண்டும் மாறிட, நம்பும்
தம் மக்கள் மகிழ்ந்திட(ஆனந்தம்) என்றும்
தூய ஆவியாய் நம்முள் வாழ்ந்திட்ட திரியேகர் அவர்

சச்சிதானந்தனாய் (சச்-சித்-ஆனந்தம்)
மெய்யறிமகிழனாய் (மெய்-அறிவு-மகிழ்ச்சி)
இறைவன் – இறைமகன் – பரிசுத்த ஆவியாய்
படைத்தவனாய் – மீட்டவனாய் – நிலைபெற செய்பவனாய்

முன்னமே இருந்து, முன்னணையில் பிறந்து
மலைமீது மரசிரசில் மரித்து
மண்ணில் புதைந்து, வென்று, உயிர்த்து
மீட்பராய் தூய ஆவியாய் என்னுள் வாழும் பரம்பொருளே

நீர் மெய்யறிமகிழன், உன் திருப்பெயர் போற்றி போற்றி !!
மெய்யறிமகிழனன் நீர் !! என்னென்றும் வாழிய வாழியவே !!

In this plane figure of three lines you have the solution to a vast problem;
The Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost;
the Creator, the Exemplar, the Sanctifier;
I am, I love, I save;
the still God, the journeying God, the returning God;
Force, Wisdom, Holiness;
the True, the Good, the Beautiful;
Sat, Cit, Ananda;
Truth, Intelligence, Joy
