This year Sunday, 30th May 2021 is observed as Trinity Sunday. I had the privilege to explain Trinity to our Church Children as part of the Virtual VBS earlier this month. I based my explanation on Trinity based on Ephesians 4:6
one God and Father of all, who is over all (God, the Father) and through all (Immanuel, Lord Jesus) and in all (God the Holy Spirit).
Holy Bible, Ephesians 4:6

We understand God as the “ultimate reality” who “transcends” all his creation and at the same time he is “immanent”. Let’s explore more about God and understand the triune nature of God, who is “over all”, “through all” & “in all”.
The bible describes that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are one God, existing in a perfect relationship, working with one mind to accomplish one will. (Matthew 28:19-20; John 14:16-17;2 Corinthians 13:14)
In one of my earlier blogs Who am I, I discussed the verse Genesis 1:26 which reads as “Let us make mankind in our own image, in our likeness”. Here the phrase “Let us” and “in our” indicates more than one. This is a reference of the Triune God – Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. They are equally eternal and glorious. The Father did not exist before the Son. The Son has always been the son, even before the Father sent Him to be born as a human baby (Jesus). And the Father and Son did not exist before the Spirit. However, there is an order in Trinity. The Father sends his son to do His will and then the Father and Son send the Spirit.
The triune nature (Trinity) of God fills us with wonder and awe. Our minds couldn’t comprehend something so complex. There was a need to redeem & liberate the human kind from sin (The topic of sin needs a separate blog, which I would pen down). God the father, initiated the process of redemption by sending His son Jesus, as a human baby. Only one who is God, yet separate from God could bear the full wrath of sin and liberate human kind. The liberated human kind had to be sustained. For this purpose, the Father and the Son sent the Holy Spirit to continue the work of redemption and sustain the human kind in Godly way.
We see that God is three persons yet One God. The Bible is very clear in this aspect. Deuteronomy 6:4 emphatically states “The Lord our God, the Lord is one”. Our limited human minds cannot fully grasp this reality about the triune God. A near real analogy could be of the Sun (Father), its light (Jesus) and its warmth (Holy Spirit).
The Psalmist sings “Taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8a). It’s important to experience the triune God, unless we do that we wouldn’t be able to comprehend this basic truth of the God spoken in the Bible. Paul in his epistle to Ephesians 4:6 writes “one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all”. We can experience the “one” God who is “over all” – above all controlling the entire universe (God the Father), who is also “through all” – who is with us as Immanuel Lord Jesus (God the Son) and who is “in all” – who dwells in us as the Holy Spirit (God the Holy Spirit).
Praising God for using you mightily in His service through your online ministry.
